  • 5500

By Abraham Crider

This book gives us the genealogy of the Garling family, of German descent. We see Michael Garling, who as a youth, fled his native country in 1765, as a result of being poor and oppressed by a tyrant. He came to America and settled in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He had four children. He departed this life at the age of 88. One of his sons was John, of whom this book is the focus of.  He was born in 1791 in Penna and married Catherine Hummel.
