This book presents the Garnett family genealogy and story of Robert Kirtley Garnett and his wife Annie Elizabeth (Hunter) Garnett. The family lived on a 160 acre farm near the Village of St. Marys, Hancock Cty, Illinois. They had eight children. The name Garnett is of Norman-French origin, and appears early in records, also early in the Virginia records. A Thomas Garnett came to Virginia in 1610 in the good ship 'Swan'.
