This 1898 publication traces the Goodwin family history and genealogy through the line of Daniel Goodwin, who settled in Kittery, Maine about 1652. This ancient English family were of the earliest settlers in America. Daniel Goodwin married first Margaret Spencer, and second after Mach 1670, Sarah Sanders, a widow. He was a surveyor, an innkeeper, and a large land proprietor. Eight children were from his first wife. Daniel died in 1712.
