John Grow of Ipswich, Massachusetts was a weaver by trade and a small land owner. Records for him appear in 1664. The Grow spelling of the name is not found in lists of immigrants, nor of other records in the state, town, church, or family history before the Ipswich records in 1664. In Ipswich, England are seen records for Grove, Groue, and Growe. John Groo (Grow) of Oxford, Mass is presumed to be a grandson of the above mentioned John of Ipswich.
