HALLOWELL: Record of a branch of the Hallowell family, including the Longstreth, Penrose and Norwood branches 1893

  • 2700

By William Penrose Hallowell

For the present day and for generations to come, this is a record of the ancient Hallowell name, a branch of the Hallowell family, including the Longstreth, Penrose and Norwood branch to 1893. The earliest knowledge is that they were Quakers hailing from Nottinghamshire, England about the year 1682, settling first at Darby, Penna then to Abington, Penna., where many descendants made their home. From the monthly meeting of Friends (Quakers) are records of marriages, deaths and the grave yard adjoining the meeting-house.
