This short book gives a biographical sketch and genealogical tables showing the descendants and related families of John Hamilton of "Locust Hill," Lexington, Virginia, who lived from 1789 to 1825. John was the youngest son of James and married Elizabeth McNutt on August 29, 1816. They had seven children. A few years after marriage he purchased an estate a few miles south east of Lexington where he lived life of a Virginia planter on his plantation including the presence of faithful and devoted negro slaves.
