Hampton History is an account of the Pennsylvania Hamptons in America in the line of John Hampton, Jr., of Wrightstown, with related families. Some of the records came from correspondence with the family, letters, the family bible of John and Mary Betts Hampton. Joseph Hampton, from England married Mary Canby in 1722. They became the ancestor of the Bucks County, Penna Hamptons. He had purchased 250 acres of land. He was an active business man, and exemplary member of society. He built what was known as the Anchor Tavern which was kept as a public house for travelers. Mary Canby Haampton lived to 97 years old and was buried at Wrightstown.
