This book gives the history and genealogy of the Hanes family, and shows the descendants of David Hanes (b. 1813) and his wife Hannah Cranor (b. 1819). David was born in Frederick Cty, MD and spoke the German language until age ten. The origin of the family is German. In the 1600s several Hanes made their way to America.
