A record of the Harris family, with charts, descended from John Harris, who was born in 1680 in Wiltshire, England. In 1681 bought of William Penn rights to locate lands in Penn's proposed colony of Pennsylvania, he bought 1500 acres and thereafter sold 500, leaving the remaining 1000 acres to his sons, John and Edward. In 1701 he died in Wiltshire, England. John and Edward Harris's names appear as proprietors in Birmingham Twp, Chester County on a map.
