This is the history of the Hayes family and the ancestral line of George Hayes of Windsor, Connecticut, his emigration, marriages, will, and his descendants to 1883. Four families of the name Hayes are recorded in New England in the seventeenth century; one in New Hampshire and three in Connecticut. They were Thomas, Nathaniel, John, and George. George came from Scotland as early as 1680 at about age 25.
