Captain John Haynie of Northumberland County, Virginia, was born about 1624 and first appears in the records of the area in 1680. He received grants of land for over 3000 acres. During his life he was a prominent resident and official of Northumberland Co. He married Jane (Morris) and they had children who were also involved in public affairs. John lived as late as 1694 when he received a grant of 400 acres of land. Typescript.
