Genealogy of the Hazen family in England and in America, with English Church registers, and descendants to 1947. The name had various spellings that include Hayson, Hazzon, Hazzen, Hazon, Hassand, Hasand. It is ancient in England. The first known ancestor to America was Edward Hazen, who came from England in 1649 with his wife. They settled in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts where he lived until his death in 1683. His wife passed soon after their arrival, with no children. He married second, Hannah Grant, the daughter of Thomas and Jane Grant of Rowley, Mass., and they had many children. The Grant family and Haburne family ancestry are provided.
