HEINY Family Record 1910
By Thyrza Heiny
This book gives the Heiny family history and descendants of Jacob, emigrant from Germany to Penna. About 1750, brothers Jacob and Sebastian Heiny, aged seventeen and fifteen, came to America. They had no money to pay their passage, and tradition says they were sold to labor to pay. Sebastian was sold near Baltimore and not heard from. Jacob was to Lancaster, Penna. After gaining his freedom he married Miss Diefenbach. Their first child came in 1759. They had twelve sons and one daughter. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The seventh son, Samuel was born in Lancaster County, PA in 1771, and he married Barbara Stern. These descendants are through this line.
