Floyd R. & Kathryn G. Mason
This book gives an in-depth look at the Hershey family, a name has been traced to early times, with an honorable lineage. Twenty different spellings are seen in records and on tombstones, including Harsh, Harsha, Hershi, Hersha, Hirsch, Hirschel, Hurshey. The Hersheys that came from Europe were members of Mennonite Church. These forefathers were opposed to war. For this particular line, the book begins with Andrew Hirschi, Sr., born 1565 of Eggiwil, Bern, Switzerland who married Barbli Schenk, as the first generation in this genealogy. In the fourth generation we see this line in America. They were settled in parts of eastern Pennsylvania, including Lancaster and Dauphin County.
