In Our Banyan Tree, we see the Holcombe Family lineage, origin and history, coat of arms, surnames explained, and much more. Holcombe means Wooded Valley, from 'Holt' a wood and 'Combe' a valley. Thomas Holcombe was born in England in 1601 to Gilbert and Ann. He was the first to come to America. He had attended Haynes University and was a former soldier for England. He was among the rly settlers. He settled in Dorchester, Mass in 1633. He signed the oath of Freeman in 1634, and was one of Puritans and Dissenters who founded Windsor.
