The Tunis Hood Family: The Danish-Dutch stock,  Its Lineages and Traditions. ( Theunis )Tunis Hood Sr was baptized at the Dutch Reformed Church in Kingston, NY, on Feb 22, 1718/19. Ancestors are buried in the graveyard there. Jan Hoed, as he was known, appears to have been a young man of standing in Kingston and Ulster Co. as he was elected constable, and surveyor. His wife was RachelVan Bunschoten. (Theunis) Tunis was their eldest son.
