A detailed book, of the branches of Hoopers in England and America. from William Hooper, 1635, who resided at Reading in 1644, and his wife was Elizabeth. Shown is the inventory of his estate andhis will in 1678. In England and America's early records the name is spelled in various ways, such as Hope, Hoope, Hupper, Hopper. It is probable it was first used in England in 1275, (as Hopore). They were part of the early original settlers in New England.
