This short book gives an account of the genealogical records of Robert Hastings Hunkins family with some related families. John was the father to Robert Hunkins (1679-1769). John was a farmer who came from England about 1665 and settled near Haverhill, Massachusetts. He left a large family when he died in 1700. There is included a biographical sketch of Captain Robert Hunkins (1738-1818) Both his parents died when the children were young , and he was taken to live with Moses Hazen, a Lieutenant and Captain in the French and Indian War and Brig General in the Revolutionary War. At age seventeen Robert volunteered for the French and Indian War and enrolled under Lt. Moses. He was in historic battles. In 1777 Robert volunteered as a soldier for the Revolutionary War. He advanced to rank of Captain.
