HUNNEWELL: Chiefly Six Generations in Massachusetts 1900

  • 1200

James Frothingham Hunnewell

This book presents the Hunnewell family showing six generations of descendants in Massachusetts from 1659 to 1900. The name is not common in England, with the exception of being seen mainly in southern counties. We see Ambrose Hunniwell and Jane Homes married in November, 1659 as seen in the Register of the Parish of St. Andrew, Plymouth, Devon, England. Two years later Ambrose is seen in New England. "Hunnewell's Point" on the western shore of the mouth of the Kennebec River in Maine appears to be the land associated with the first ancestors in America.
