The author shares memories of the family as the last surviving member of the Hyslop - Baird families. It gives insight to the family origin, history and particularly important occurrences that took place. He recalls when his parents, both born in Scotland, William Hyslop (b. 1815) and his mother, Mary McAdam (b. 1812), with the family migrated to America in 1843, when he was young.  Numerous stories on what life was like, with photos, births, education, church life, songs, poems, wills, vocations, and deaths, are provided.
