By Walter Renton Ingalls

In commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the settlement of Lynn, Massachusetts by two Ingalls brothers. This history of the Ingalls family in America, shows branches of the descendants of Edmund and Ann Ingalls, who settled at Lynn, MA in 1629. His father was Robert, his grandfather was Henry, of Lincolnshire, England. It was with his brother, Francis, and four others that Edmund settled in Lynn. His name was found in the town records showing he was a prominent citizen. In 1648 while traveling to Boston on Horseback, he drowned in the Saugus River due to a defective bridge. The histories of the early settlers of the country fully describe the hardships they experienced. We also see some with the name spelled as Ingells, maps, illustrations, and an index of names.
