Joseph Ingham came from England to Quinnipac, now New Haven, Connecticut, in 1639. (by Samuel Ingham, 1871), with additions & notes on the Ayer & Northrop families. This sketch of the Ingham family shares the religious and civil state of England at the time of Charles I and how some of the small Connecticut settlement s were started. Joseph Ingham and Sarah Bushnell were married at Saybrook in 1655 and these are their descendants, covering the years from 1639-1871. The Northrops, (or Northrup) from early times, showed an interest in law and politics, and come from good Colonial stock. Joseph Northrup came from England as one of the first settlers of Milford, CT. He married Mary Norton.
