The Ivey name has been around for a long time, dating back to those who took part in the Holy Wars in Europe. We find St. Ivo and St. Ives in several counties. Variations of the spelling - all related- include Ivo, Ivye, Ivi, Ivy, and more. The author, George Franks Ivey is a great-great- grandson of Adam Ivey (1700-1762). In America, they are seen as early settlers in 1625. Several branches and locations in the United States are covered in this publication.
