By P. & J. Jewell

The name has been written as Jule, Joyell, Jewel, and Jewell. These are the descendants of Thomas Jewell of Braintree, Massachusetts to the year 1860. He was born in England around 1600. He was most likely from the same line as Bishop John Jewell who died in 1571. Thomas Jewell is recorded at Braintree or Plymouth Colony in 1639, being granted land, and his will names his wife and children.
