This 1907 book on the genealogical history of the Jones family focuses on the descendants of Major Thomas Jones, who lived from 1665 -1726, and was ancestor of the Long Island family. The origin of the family is Welsh, of Merionetshire, or Glamorganshire, in western Wales. His arrival to Long Island was about 1704. Holding official position of High Sheriff and later Justice of the Peace for Queens Cty. His son, David later became Judge of Queens Cty., until the Revolutionary War.
