This publication presents the history and genealogy of the Jones family. Descendants of Hugh Jones, born in 1635 in Wincanton, England, emigrated and settled in Salem, Massachusetts in 1650 where he died about 1688. He married first Hannah Tompkins and second Mary Tompkins (a cousin of his first wife). He was a farmer and reared a large family. Records are provided to 1931. Allied names included are Tompkins, Snow, Russell, Trefery, Annice, Boys, Keith, Gilson, Bowen, Clark. The family is of Welsh origin.
