By C. H. Kilmer

This 1897 publication presents the history of the Kilmer family in America. Their native land was Hesse-Cassell Germany. Philip Kelmer and his family were part of a group of refugees from the German Palatinate region and arrived in America about 1710 after many sufferings and a flight from their home. On their arrival they faced many hardships. They lived in the Livingston Manor, New York area in 1710. Johannes Külmer or John Kilmer (1739-1823) was a great grandson of Philip, and was born at East Camp (now Germantown), New York.
