This publication on the history and genealogy of the family of Kinne was written in 1947. Variations of this name include Keayne, Keen, Keeney, Kenney, Kinne, Kinney. Salem was the seat and center of settlements, the first town settled in Massachusetts. Salem has a deep history and it is from here the name of Henry Kinne is seen in records. He was born in 1623, baptized in 1624 in Holland, where his Puritan parents had gone to escape persecution. He was the son of John Keney and Sarah (Cheever) and about 30 years when coming to America. His wife was Anne and they had eight children. He was a planter, religious man, soldier and prominent member of his community.
