This book shows twelve generations of descendants, a genealogical memoir of the Lothrop-Lathrop family in England and America, with a focus on the descendants of Rev. John Lothropp (Lathrop) of Massachusetts. John Sr, His son was Robert Lowthroppe, his oldest son was Thomas, and his son was Rev. John Lothropp, born in England, died in Barnstable. The family is derived from the area in the East Riding of York, where there was a small parish, the ancient church Lowthorpe, and it's history is provided. This book provides the history of the Lothrop-Lathrop family, tracing their lineage from their origins in the small English parish of Lowthorpe to their journey to America in the 17th century. Through genealogical research and historical documents, the author offers insights into the families' social standing, religious beliefs, and the challenges they faced in both England and the New World. It unfolds against the backdrop of significant historical events, including the rise of Puritanism and the early settlement of Massachusetts.
