This 1914 book gives an account of the Manton family, for the years from 1750-1914. Read about the legend of John Fredrick Manton, of England, dating to the 1750s, where three orphan children living near Warwick were cared for by Catholic nobility, because their grandparents had lost their estate after the Revolution of 1688. The three children were Shakespeares. Mary Shakespeare married a man named William Manton. John Fredrick Manton was born in 1790 and married Alice Smith in 1815. The book also references Canadian ancestors, William S. Manton and Jane Mitchell.
