This detailed publication presents a thorough record of the descendants of George and Alice Maris, who came from England to America in 1683. The pioneer with his wife and family settled in Springfield Township (which was originally Chester County, later was Delaware Cty). He named his residence the 'Home House', and a spring on his farm is supposed by many to have given the name Springfield to the township.  The genealogical lineage covers the years from 1683-1885. Published in 1885 in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
