The 1902 book focuses on their English ancestry and homes. 

The brothers, Reinold and Matthew, were among the original settlers of Hartford, Connecticut, and were proprietors of land in that early town. Reinold later helped establish the town of Farmington nearby. Accounts of Reinold's sons, John, Reinold, and Samuel, and Matthew's son, Benjamin, provide insight into their lives and contributions to colonial society.

The author's examination of the family's military service, political involvement, and personal connections reveals their profound impact on the development of Connecticut.
