Lawrence McAleer, son of Hugh McAleer and his wife, Catharine Keenan of County Tyrone, Ireland, was born in 1781. He married (1) Catharine Gormley in 1798 and (2) Mary McCullough in 1808. Lawrence came to Québec in 1831. Descendants lived in Québec, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and elsewhere.
