Rev. David Smith McAllister

This 1900 publication provides a genealogical account of Col. Alexander McAllister of Cumberland County, North Carolina, and his descendants; Also of Mary McAllister and Isabella McAllister. It details the family history of the McAllister lineage, tracing their descendants over four generations from their Scottish heritage to North Carolina. Also descendants by his third wife, Jane or Jean Colvin and the Colvin line. It also provides insight to their role in American history during the colonial period. Alexander McAllister came from Argyleshire, Scotland to Wilmington, NC in 1736. He returned to Scotland in 1739 or 1740 and there married Mary McNeill who died, and was buried at sea, on the return voyage to America.
