Joseph McFarland

Along with the origin of the name, and early history of the clan, this book of the McFarland family covers their migration to America. The focus is on the line of William McFarland and Nancey Kilgore from 1740-1912. William McFarland was born and lived near Edinburg, Scotland. He immigrated to America and family's home in Virginia was probably in what is now Berkeley Co., West Virginia. His children were born in that county between 1779 and 1790. He married Nancy Kilgore in 1777. She died in Ohio ca. 1841. Descendants live in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Texas, Kansas and elsewhere.
