This book provides the history of the Monros of Auchinbowie and Cognate Families. John Monro who lost an arm at a. clan fight between the Munros and the Mackintoshes at Clachnaharry in 1454, is described as ' a bold, forward, daring gentleman, esteemed by his sovereign and loved by his friends.' He died about 1475.
