This short booklet, Ancestry and Descendants of Gershom Morehouse, Jr., of Redding, Connecticut, A Captain in the American Revolution. Thomas Morehouse, the immigrant ancestor, was in Wethersfield, Connecticut as early as 1640. In 1641 moved to Stamford and was one of the twenty-nine white settlers of that town, purchased of the New Haven Colony, who had previously bought it of the Indians for one hundred bushels of corn. In 1653 he settled in Fairfield where he died in 1658.
