Litchfield, Connecticut, the Vaill Homestead, old letters, 'The Days that are no More', 'Home Sweet Home'. In 1915 the author takes a visit to her childhood home of Litchfield, going back and seeing the many changes and transformations after many years of being away. She shares her memories, the joys and the disappointments of it being 'discouragingly new', for the way she remembered it to be.
