William Eaton Hawkins, born around 1750 in Virginia, moved to Greenville County, S.C., where he built a self-sufficient life with his family before passing away in 1812. Robert Goodlett and James Nichols Gaston were other prominent figures in South Carolina, leaving legacies through their descendants. Evelyn Lodusky Lide and Dorothy Nowlin-Schack also had families with rich histories, carrying on their legacies through generations.
