A description of their early history, the origin of the name, the arms and family land are included. Henry Messinger and his wife Sarah were residents of Boston prior to 1640. He was the first known proprietor, as appears by the Book of Possessions, information from the Massachusetts Historical Society. Henry and Sarah Messinger's children were born from 1641. We see discussion on Andrew Messenger 1615-1680, of Jamaica, New York. Numerous illustrations and charts throughout. Appendix C shows the lineage of Elizabeth Mellows, of distinguished royal ancestry, who married Thomas Messinger, the son of Henry.
