He married Julia Ann Hunter in 1846 and together they had several children. Their son, Captain Robert Hogan Molton, later married Rachel Haywood Moore and also had children. The Molton family has a rich history dating back to the Revolutionary War, with members serving in various capacities and contributing to the country's history. Abraham Molton was a Major in the Revolutionary War. Displayed in the book are numerous portraits of family members.
