The document, including the seal of Hamilton and the seal and signature of John Pierce, dates back to 1621 and is now housed in Pilgrim Hall. London business group, the Merchant Adventurers, supported the Plymouth Colony financially. Additional members arrived in 1629, and a charter was granted for territory around Massachusetts Bay. Plymouth Colony faced harsh winters, losses, and challenges but persevered with spiritual freedom and determination.
