The Stiles family history traces back to John Stiles, born in 1665, who grew up in Windsor, Connecticut. At the age of 18, he became the guardian of his estate, indicating a significant responsibility at a young age. This early foundation set the stage for the family's legacy in the region.

Noah Stiles, born on September 4, 1773, in East Windsor, Connecticut, was the son of Noah Stiles II. His life and contributions to the family narrative are notable, as he represents a continuation of the Stiles lineage in America. The family's residence, a carriage house built in 1854, became their home in 1855 and was equipped with modern amenities for the time, reflecting the family's adaptation to changing lifestyles.

The Stiles name also has roots in Millbrook, England, where it has been recorded since 1581, with Thomas Stylles having eight children. In the late 17th century, the family sought to establish a church, leading to a petition in 1694, which resulted in Rev. Timothy Edwards becoming the minister. This move highlights the family's commitment to community and faith, further solidifying their place in both local and familial history.
